A one-off has no prototype round to absorb a mistake. Signage lives outside, gets rained on and has to survive being bumped; a serving cart gets pushed across a lobby every evening. Brandis builds the illumination, the mounting and the weatherproofing into the same production run as the visible face, so the piece that ships is the piece that was engineered, not a compromise made on site.
